Project Description:

A long-time customer had a very high ground water level and a natural spring on the back of their property. The sump pump and (3) downspouts were all exiting into the area, adding to the issue. The customer also has a very limited amount of space on their property to keep the water on site.

Bates came up with a solution to keep the water on the property and created a pond / rainwater basin. We channeled the downspouts and the sump pump to exit and flow into the new pond area as a collection zone. Due to the sump pump going off so frequently, this would allow the water to have a safe collection area on the property and not affect neighboring homes.

Bates installed new native plant material, along with the use of natural material, like riverstone, pine needles, and boulders to create an oasis. Now the customer has a beautiful area to relax and enjoy coffee, while solving the issue of a muddy / marshy backyard!
