Storm Water Drainage with Berms and Piping

The client has a property in a valley that received 41 inches of water in the lower floor during a hurricane.

Location:

Delaware County, PA

Budget Range:

$16,000 – $24,000

Project Description:

We began by addressing where the water flow was breaching the property by site surveys and topographical mapping. We proposed a system of large berms and swales with a commercial sized channel drain across the driveway and presented an option to use commercial sized concrete storm drains and 12” piping to supplement the berm and swale system.

The client chose to add the concrete storm drains and piping so that the berms could be lowered while still allowing for large scale drainage volume. We also added in drainage and redid hardscape along lower lying areas that had previously been damaged by the flooding.
