The homeowners asked Bates to solve a few issues for them at their beautiful home in Chester County. First, the outdated and failing retaining wall at the driveway – second, the failing railroad tie wall at the front foundation, and third the water issues!

Bates customized a stormwater solution that started before the rainwater even enters the property! We created a berm along the edge of the road to continue the flow of water at the street, as the road was constructed for. After that, we contoured the front lawn area to move water into strategically placed catch basins that channel water into the lower part of the back yard.

Bates also reconstructed the outdated timber walls at the front foundation and along the driveway. These were replaced with beautifully sourced PA boulders to maintain the natural appearance of the surrounding areas. The steps were installed with a tier placement to allow easy access for family members at the lower part of the driveway!
